They guide urban and suburban development in alignment with community plans for safety and growth. Districts allow for diverse development like residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use, each with unique regulations. RURAL RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT (RUR) This category represents primarily those areas that are transitional between higher density developments and agricultural or conservation uses. This district is intended to preserve economically viable agricultural land and large tracts of residential land in order to maintain a rural atmosphere in appropriate areas of the County.
